Tie Breaker Settles Battle For First Place
Glendale Agricultural Society Annual Quiz Night a Resounding Success
The annual Glendale Agricultural Society (GAS) quiz night certainly had participants on the edge of their seats with a tie breaker deciding who took first place. ‘Fake Facts’ pipped ‘Universally Challenged’ to the post and took the top spot.
Sponsored by H&H Land and Property and H&H Insurance Brokers, the society welcomed 16 teams to take part. The winning team, ‘Fake Facts’, made up of David Wilson, Tom Johnson, David Farr and Neil Tait received a day for four at the races, kindly donated by Kelso Races.
Closely following in second place was team ‘Universally Challenged’ who each took home a membership to the GAS. In third place was ‘Eric’s Angels’, made up of members of both the society’s own Horticultural and Industrial team and received a meal for four at the Tankerville Arms Hotel, Wooler. Joint fourth place went to ‘Hillbillies’ and ‘Last But Not Least’ who each received a bottle of wine donated by Chatton Village Store.
“The quiz was a fantastic evening with some strong competition, and lots of fun was had by all,” said Rachael Tait, GAS Secretary. “Thanks must go to Quiz Master, Ronald Barber, and also to H&H Land and Property and H&H Insurance Brokers for kindly supporting the evening.”
All team members enjoyed a pie and pea supper before the first round began. The teams were put through their paces with eight question rounds and a picture round. Last but not least, team ‘Not a Clue’ walked away with the wooden spoon.
Commenting on the evening, James Murphy, Principle Director at H&H Land and Property said: “Alongside H&H Insurance Brokers, we were delighted to support the Glendale Agricultural Society’s annual quiz night.
“Although our team didn’t take home any prizes, we had a very fun evening and were thrilled to be part of what has become a highlight in the society’s calendar.”
